Once again hello.
I always feel weird starting with a greeting, but then if I don't put one I feel rude and no one wants to feel rude now do they? I will continue to do it I suppose and just have a vague sense of unrest. Who knows what I talk about really. But I have some good news. I made an even smaller zine. It half the size of the first one to be exact. There's a good tutorial on rookie magazine that shows you how to fold a zine using one piece of paper. I suggest you use it and make your own zine.
I made this lil' itty bitty zine about my favourite movies in the whole world and I included a quote from each movie. I recommend you watch every movie on this list and then watch them again because they are so good. Also when I made this zine I realized something about my taste. I like magical movies that make life look beautiful and artistic and fun. I guess it says something about how I see the world and how good I am at being realistic (really bad at it). I think it's better to try and see the world as magical and beautiful because the alternative is just depressing. I'll keep my head in the clouds and leave agendas and spreadsheets for others.
Anyways that's all for now,

I am eating pancakes.
Well hello
As the title of this blog post suggest I am, indeed, eating pancakes. I made them with my own two hands and that is how i am eating them because I don't have any clean cutlery. I am finally all done school this year so that's a big ol' plus. :) I had my last exam yesterday and now I have five days to pack up my entire room and go home to Thunder Bay. I haven't been drawing that much lately and I feel kind of weird about it. I have been embroidering though, so that's exciting. It is actually a lot easier than I thought it would be and it is all the rage with the kids these days. So far I have done four different embroidery projects or whatever they are called. The first is just a random mix of me testing out stitches and stuff, the second is a tiny cactus, the third says "satsuma, live wasp and nightmares", and the fourth is a face.
This brings me to my obsession as of late. His name is Richard Ayoade and he is hilarious. He is a comedian and the director of the movie Submarine and I love him. He's a comedic genius and possibly just a straight up genius. He is the reason why I embroidered satsuma, live wasp and nightmares.
In case you were confused by the second picture, no that is not embroidery, it is my bedroom. I just thought the two photos went well together.
That's all I have to say today.

Feeling the pressure.
Hello!
As the title of this blog post suggests I am feeling the pressure. School is almost over and it is getting harder to focus on it when all I want to do is go to a beach (even though it is ridiculously cold out). I am currently working on my video project for class, as well as a photography project. I'm excited for those. Also I have to write to essays which is not exciting at all. Anyways, enough with the school talk. Here is a drawing of Audrey Hepburn.
That's all folks.

MORE ELVES
Hello hello.
I am still obsessed with the elves from Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. I also really like the movie Elf and Dobby. There are so many different kinds of elves!! They don't have much in common either. Ooohh! I just remembered another elf, Slannen from Ella Enchanted. This post is about Thranduil though. Not about Buddy or Dobby or Slannen or even Legolas. Thranduil was my favourite character in The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. He's such a drama queen. Also he has fabulous eyebrows.
I like this drawing better than my last one.
ELVES FOREVER!

P.S. You should listen to this song by Ed Sheeran from The Hobbit soundtrack. It is like listening to magic.

What do your elvish eyes see?
Hello!
I saw The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug two days ago and it was FREAKING GREAT! Benedict Cumberbatch was an amazing dragon and Martin Freeman was a hilarious hobbit, but my favourite thing in the movie was the elves. I love the elves in Lord of the Rings and I love them in The Hobbit. They are so elegant and everything they have is beautiful. My absolute favourite character in The Hobbit was Thranduil, the elf king because he is so sassy. I didn't draw him yet so I will have to make due with a drawing of my second favourite elf, Legolas.
I made him look like a child... Woops. Anyways, there he is with his perfect hair. I love the braids that elves have in the movies. They are always so intricate. Yes, I have an obsession with braids.
That's all for today. Go see The Hobbit.

No one can catch the mother fucking fox
Hello there.
Sorry for my absence over the last few days. I ran out of pages in my sketch book and it seemed to stall my creative brain. Also I didn't have internet for two days. Any who, today I would like to talk about an animal. Yes, you guessed right, it is a hamster. Ha! Just kidding it is the elusive fox. Have you noticed that they are every where now a days? Not literally, but in fashion and interior design and music (*cough cough* what does the fox say). My personal favourite fox themed thing is the movie Fantastic Mr. Fox. It is one of my all time favourite movies and it is directed by Wes Anderson, of course. I even have a Fantastic Mr. Fox Pinterest board, so you know I'm committed.
This isn't my favourite drawing I've ever done, but it will have to do for today.
That's all folks.

P.S. The title of this blog post is a quote from the book Looking For Alaska by John Green.

Why see the world when you've got the beach?
Holla!
In today's episode of Hanna's obsession I will be sharing two or maybe three things that I love. They are, Frank Ocean, The Bling Ring and Sofia Coppola. I wanted to do this post about Frank Ocean mainly, but I couldn't think of anything to draw that would fit into my style and then I remembered that one of his songs is in the end of the movie The Bling Ring and voila I had an idea. The Bling Ring is about a group of teenagers that steal from a whole bunch of celebrities houses by just walking into their unlocked houses. Emma Watson is amazing in this movie because she is just the opposite of herself in every way. Also Sofia Coppola's movies are always really beautiful to look at. Now onto why Frank Ocean is awesome. I am not actually sure why I like him. It's weird because he is an R&B type singer, and if you have seen any of my other posts you will know that I like alternative, British music. I just can't explain why I like him. I don't know!
So there it is. Hooray!
Have a joyous evening! I'm going to see Capital Cities in concert! AHHH!

"This is ridiculous" "This, Madam, is Versailles"
Heyyy
Another day has passed and so I have another one of my obsessions to share. I think it's safe to say that I'm just a fangirl at heart. Today (and for the past few years) my obsession is Marie Antoinette. I first discovered who she was when I read one of those Diary of a Princess books that were like fake diary entries about a real historical figures when they were young. I read this book and thought she was so important and classy (this book didn't say that she was beheaded and was really narcissistic and greedy). Then I saw the Sofia Coppola movie, and it was so stylized and beautiful and excessive, and my interest was peaked. Also the 1938 movie Marie Antoinette is really good. It has the same excess and stylized quality as Sofia Coppola version. I've been looking for a good biography to read, but whenever I look at Chapters I am disappointed. Maybe I should ask for one as a Christmas present.
Fun fact: Marie Antoinette was one of the first people to have gossip headlines written about her. She was treated how celebrities are often treated in this day and age.
Of course I had to include "let them eat cake", even though historians aren't sure she even said that.
Check out both version of Marie Antoinette if you can! From a purely visual stand point they are gorgeous.

I remember him in a purple sweater
Bonjour!
Today I would like to talk about the movie Beginners. I just watched it yesterday and it was SO GREAT! I'm not going to give a plot synopsis or anything because I'm not that good at it and IMDb is. The movie is so sweet and sad and funny and quirky and it's filled with art and I'm so happy I watched it. In the movie the main character, Oliver, has a dog named Arthur that talks to him only through subtitles so that's what I decided to draw.
I hope you have a wonderful day filled with wonder and happiness.

She stabbed him in the back with lefty scissors!
If you can tell what movie I'm going to be talking about today then I applaud you, if not then what are you doing with your life?? The movie, of course, is Moonrise Kingdom which is directed by the genius Wes Anderson. I think I love this movie so much because of the precocious children, how everything is so dramatic and (obviously) the visuals. Everything fits so perfectly into the world of the movie. I want to read the books that Suzy packs with her! Sadly they do not exist. You can buy a notebook with the cover of "COPING WITH THE VERY TROUBLED CHILD" on etsy.
I did a silly painting of Sam meeting Suzy. I used acrylic paints and sharpie for this.
Well that's all I have for today... Go buy Moonrise Kingdom!
BYE!

One more quote to end the post...

One more quote to end the post...
Sam: Sometimes I stick leaves on my hair. It helps cool your head down.
Suzy: Hmm. That's a good idea. It might also help if you didn't wear a fur hat.
